How to delete it

Option 1 — in the app (immediate)

1. Open AudioTales.
2. On your library screen, tap Profile.
3. Scroll to Privacy, tap Delete account, read what will be deleted and tap Delete everything.

Everything listed under What we delete is deleted at that moment, and the app signs out of the account. It can't be undone.

Option 2 — by email

If you no longer have the app, email support@tales.audio with the subject “Delete my AudioTales account”. We carry out the same deletion by hand within 30 days.

• If you sign in to AudioTales with an email address, send it from that address.
• If you've never used an email address with AudioTales, tell us what you can — book titles and roughly when you made them — and we'll do our best to find the account. Without the app we may not be able to identify it with certainty; in that case we'll tell you. (You can also write from inside the app with Contact support, which tells us exactly which account it is — but if you still have the app, Option 1 is quicker.)

Have a subscription? Deleting your account doesn't cancel it. Cancel it first in the App Store (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions).

What we delete

Permanently, and in the app at the moment you confirm:

• your account: its identifier and, if you used one, your email address;
• all your books: page photos and thumbnails, the words read from them and your corrections, translations, narrations, narrated titles, exported audio files, music choices and settings;
• your credits, credit history and usage events;
• your notification tokens;
• the messages you sent us with Contact support.

If you asked by email, we'll confirm by email when it's done.

What we keep, and for how long

• A note that the account was deleted — the date, the account identifier and how many books and files were removed, nothing else — for up to 12 months, so we can show the deletion was carried out.
• Database backups are kept for 7 days, so copies of your data disappear from them within 7 days of the deletion.
• Server logs, which can contain your IP address and account identifier, expire after about 30 days.
• Emails you sent us directly (rather than from the app) stay in our mailbox for as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record of the request.
• Purchase records held by Apple or Google are kept by them under their own policies; we don't hold payment details.

Deleting only some of your data

You don't have to delete your whole account. In the app you can delete a book, a page, or one language of a book at any time. Deleting a book removes it from your library and deletes its stored page photos, narrations and exported audio from our servers straight away (the app gives you a few seconds to undo first).
